This is an infrared camera placed in the Motianling area of the Tangjiahe section of the Giant Panda National Park. From June 10 to November 1, 2022, in less than 5 months, a total of 1,517 photos and 750 videos of wild animals were collected and recorded. A total of 18 species of wild animals were recorded, including giant pandas, takins, Sichuan golden monkeys, golden cats, Chinese gorals, Tibetan macaques, civets, yellow-throated martens, tufted deer, rock squirrels, badgers, chipmunks, and bats. There are 5 species of birds, including red-bellied tragopans, black-capped laughingthrushes, orange-winged laughingthrushes, nutcrackers, and gray-headed green woodpeckers. Among them, there are 4 species of national first-class protected animals and 6 species of national second-class protected animals.
As one of the earliest protected areas in the country to use infrared cameras, more than 20 years of infrared camera monitoring has recorded a large number of hidden figures of wild animals, and explored the habitats and activity trajectories and rare behavior patterns of wild animals in spring, summer, autumn and winter. The Tangjiahe section of the Giant Panda National Park is one of the areas with the highest encounter rate of rare wild animals in low-altitude areas, so it is easy to see wild animals in the wild with your own eyes.
