"Today, when we were sorting out the infrared cameras set up in the wild, we were surprised to find that a national first-class protected animal, a leopard, was captured at 10:50 on October 29. This is the first time a leopard has been captured in this area." The relevant person in charge of Taiping State Ecological Forest Farm in Huyi District, Xi'an City said that this infrared camera was set up on April 16 this year at the bottom of a north-south gentle slope in Hualin Bay, Dongxishan Management Station of Taiping State Ecological Forest Farm. Below is a small river, which is the only way for animals to get water.

According to the staff, the infrared camera captured two leopards, and the interval between the two photos was less than 20 seconds, which can confirm that the camera captured the same leopard. The first photo shows that the adult leopard passed very close to the camera, and only the leopard's strong back muscles and distinct leopard patterns were captured. The second photo shows that the leopard passed by the camera, paused for a while, and was photographed sideways from the right side of the camera.

"Although the traces of the leopard have been photographed many times in the hinterland of Qinling Mountains, this is the first time that the traces of the leopard have been found in Taiping State Ecological Forest Farm." It is reported that in order to continue to increase the protection of wild animals, Taiping State Ecological Forest Farm has deployed 31 infrared cameras in the farm, and has successively photographed more than 160 valid videos and photos of national first-class protected animals such as takin, golden monkey, musk deer and hazel grouse, and national second-class protected animals such as red-bellied tragopan, yellow-throated marten, leopard cat, black bear, etc. The first time the leopard was photographed shows that the number of wild animals has increased as the ecological environment in this area has improved.
