A laser rangefinder is an instrument that uses laser technology to measure distance. It calculates the distance by emitting laser and receiving the reflected laser beam.
1. Working principle: When the laser rangefinder is working, it emits a very thin laser beam to the target, and the photoelectric element receives the laser beam reflected by the target. The timer measures the time from the emission of the laser beam to the reception. The time is multiplied by the speed of light and then divided by two to calculate the distance from the observer to the target.
2. Classification: Laser rangefinders can be divided into handheld laser rangefinders, telescope laser rangefinders, one-dimensional laser rangefinders, two-dimensional laser rangefinders and three-dimensional laser rangefinders. The handheld laser rangefinder generally measures the distance within 200 meters with high accuracy; the telescope laser rangefinder generally measures the distance between 600-3000 meters with low accuracy.
3. Application fields:-Construction field: used to measure the height, length, width, casting area, volume and other parameters of buildings.
-Engineering field: used to measure the length, width, height and other parameters of roads, bridges and other projects.
- Geological exploration field: used to measure the height, length, width and other parameters of geological structures.
- Manufacturing field: used to measure the size and position of machine parts.
4. Technical features: Laser rangefinder is characterized by light weight, small size, simple operation, fast speed and accuracy, and its error is only one-fifth to several hundredths of other optical rangefinders.
5. Measurement method: Laser rangefinder generally uses pulse method and phase method to measure distance. The pulse method calculates the distance by recording the time of the laser round trip, while the phase method determines the distance by measuring the phase change of the laser wave.
Laser rangefinder has been widely used in many fields due to its high precision and convenience, and its application scope is still expanding with the development of technology.
